The Basement Cellar wine database is a sophisticated, but free, Members Only Wiki style of web-site allowing you to add your data to our database and share it with other people.

Registered users can write their own wine review, make blog entries, add winery's and publish these on our site.

The Basement Cellar's shared data model involves multiple levels of sharing:

• Private (Do not share my data.) This applies to all your content except winery's. If you add a winery to our database we will publish it so everyone can see it on our maps.
• Public (Anyone can see this data, even unregistered users.)
• Members Only (Share data with only other Registered Users.)
• My Friends (Share with users on the site that I select.)

The site has its own publishing rules to avoid illegal, illicit content from the site:

• Reviewed and Approved (Will be published based on users publishing model)
• Reviewed and Rejected (Illegal, Inappropriate, etc.)

Here are the levels of membership:

• The basic Individual is defined as a member that has registered and gives that user access to all the site has to offer. The individual account has no bottle limits. You can write reviews, add winery's, post classified ads, make blog entries, etc.
• Members automatically get their content approved so it is posted to the site immediately.

• Your username has to be unique, but you pick it yourself!
• Your password is case sensitive.
• A valid email address is required.
